Le partenariat oriental de l'UE face à la Russie

Chantal Lavallée obtained her PhD in Political Science from UQAM, in 2010. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the emergence of the European field of security and defence, and argues that this field is structured by the interactions between state and non-state actors that position themselves with several instruments and different logics of action. After finishing her PhD, she was awarded a 2-years fellowship from the “Fonds Québécois de la Recherche sur la Société et la Culture (FQRSC)” to conduct postdoctoral research as a visiting fellow at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence (2010-2012). At the EUI, she analysed the contribution of the European Commission and its relations with other actors in EU Security Governance in order to understand resulting consequences for academic security studies. Her latest article on this topic has just been published in a special issue on EU Security Governance that she co-edited for the Journal of Contemporary European Research (vol. 9, no. 3, 2013).
