Les vecteurs du succès socio-économique des pays de l’Europe du Nord : une comparaison entre le Québec et la Finlande

Lecturer: André Noël Chaker,  BCL, LLB and MBA (Helsinki School of Economics).

Mr. Chaker is currently the Senior Advisor to the President at the Finnish National Lottery Veikkaus Oy. His main task over the past year has been to represent the interests of Veikkaus and the World Lottery Association in matters of sport integrity and the global fight against match-fixing. He has held different positions at Veikkaus including the direction of the entertainment and new business development divisions.

Prior to joining the lottery, Mr Chaker held several senior management positions in the fields of international sports and information technology. He moved from Canada to Finland twenty years ago to become the Secretary General of the International Council of Sports Science and Physical Education, an influential NGO in the field of international sports. He continues to hold positions of trust within the Olympic movement including his membership of the IAAF Legal Commission.

He has published several books worldwide in the fields of law, governance, business, media and technology. His latest book, The Finnish Miracle (Talentum eds), is about Finnish culture and its relationship to social-economic success. It has been a best-seller in Finland for the past year. He is a popular inspirational speaker and often lectures at several Finnish Universities. 

He is a Montreal-born lawyer who studied at McGill University (BCL, LLB). He is a member of the New York Bar and the Finnish Lawyers Association. He also holds an MBA degree in finance and IT from the Helsinki School of Economics.
