  1. Develop, in Montreal, top quality multi-disciplinary research hub focused on the EU, its institutions and policies, as well as its stands on regional and global issues
  2. Facilitate exchanges and expand academic networks.
  3. Carry out diverse public activities to widely disseminate research findings about Europe and the EU that are conducted in Quebec, Canada, and internationally
  4. Increase interest in European studies, expand the number of students taking classes about Europe and the EU, develop new courses on Europe, and encourage student mobility
  5. Share information and promote awareness of Europe and the EU in Quebec through a series of outreach and training activities targeted at the general public, including teachers, students and leaders in the business community


To fulfil its mandate, the EUCE focuses on six complementary activities:

  • Networking

The EUCE draws upon the established strengths at the Université de Montréal and McGill University.
